Safety and Awareness on this Site

I just thought it worth mentioning - because a good friend mentioned it to me today - that we all need to be aware of the safety element when giving out information to others.

I'm shocked at my lack of consideration of safety for me.  I have spelt out the darker sider of the web to my 12 year old and have failed to apply it  to myself.  We all need to remain vigilant, to decide carefully what information we give out and to who we give it.  And, using commonsense in protecting ourselves should we decide to go ahead and physically meet other people.

I'm shocked that I hadn't thought about this before - especially given the nature of my background.  Trust doesn't come easily to me as I guess it doesn't to all of us who access this site.  I hadn't taken it on board that I need to be wary - but I'm very glad that my friend decided she needed to remind me.  She probably values me more than I value myself.

'll stop rambling.  JUST BE AWARE AND KEEP YOURSELVES SAFE.

Thank you Liz

I think we all need reminding of this.  I too have real problems with trust.

I had real difficulties when we were joined by a younger person and am grateful to Jamie for offering her advice.

We need to be safe when exchanging e-mail or home addresses as you never know

We also need to respect each other and acknowledge that some of us may never be ready to share but gain a lot from the boards and private messaging

Amanda
